A Cinematic Portfolio for a Professional Video Editor
Project Overview
crisgova.org ↗ is the professional portfolio of Cristina Gómez, a Madrid-based video editor and post-production coordinator whose work spans documentary film, commercials, e-learning, and music videos — with credits for Prime Video, Domestika, Bitvavo, and clients including Disney, Heineken, Mediaset, RTVE, and Save The Children.
The brief: a site where the work speaks first. Video editing is a visual craft, so the design gets out of the way — a dark, cinematic canvas with a project grid that leads straight into each piece.
Design Approach
- Dark, frame-first layout. Every project is presented as a film still on a near-black background, echoing a screening-room atmosphere rather than a typical agency site.
- Typography-led hierarchy. Project titles follow an editorial
Title / Clientconvention with category labels (Commercial, Documentary, Trailer, Videoclip), keeping the grid scannable without visual noise. - Zero friction. Three sections — Work, About, Contact — and direct links to email, LinkedIn, and Vimeo. No animations that compete with the reels.
Technologies Used
-
Next.js 16 (App Router): Server Components and static rendering for instant loads and strong SEO on a content-driven site.
-
React 19 + TypeScript: Modern, strictly typed component architecture.
-
Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui (Radix): Accessible primitives and a utility-first design system, themed for the dark cinematic aesthetic.
-
Vercel: Deployment with a custom domain and analytics.
Outcome
A fast, focused portfolio under Cristina's own domain that puts her credits front and centre — and gives prospective clients a single, professional destination for her work.
